Sometimes you can find errors in the log files. Most of them are harmless and will not affect your system, but if you find any of the ones below you need to take action.

Always test solutions in your test environment before deploying them to your production environment.

Log4J error in visionproject.log file

If you find the error below (or something similar):

log4j:ERROR setFile(null,true) call failed.

java.io.FileNotFoundException: crypt.log (Permission denied)
at java.io.FileOutputStream.open(Native Method)
at java.io.FileOutputStream.<init>(FileOutputStream.java:221)
at java.io.FileOutputStream.<init>(FileOutputStream.java:142)

...

...

Take the following action:

Double check your settings in the log4j.properties file and make sure the properties for "log4j.appender. <the log name> .File" include a full path to the file such as /var/log/tomcat7/ or similar

Could not connect to mail server, the server certificate and/or certification path is not valid

If you find the below error:

An error occurred: Could not connect to mail server, the server certificate and/or certification path is not valid. Detailed message: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target

Take the following action:

Rename the file mailsetting_jssecacerts_X inside your VisionFlow Document folder. Example: C:\Tomcat8_docs\1\mailsetting_jssecacerts_0

Then check if the error is now gone.
